The (wo)man behind the curtain. The name Bada Design derived from her middle name, which is a family name. As the Filipino culture takes the mother’s maiden name for the child’s middle name. It is a tribute to Erika’s late grandfather, Arturo Bada, who was an electrical engineer and ran his own company called Bada Engineering. Bada Design continues his legacy as a new branch of construction and creativity.
Erika grew up in Los Angeles and went to school at Michigan State University where she graduated with three degrees: Interior Design, Psychology, and Studio Art. She took her first two original majors, Psychology and Art, and realized how to perfectly mix the two with Interior Design. She immediately grew a passion for interiors as it fueled her creativity all the while implementing human behavior to create spaces that are not only easy on the eyes but also functionally enhance experience.
Erika started her career at large architecture firms in New York City and then over to Chicago, designing restaurants, cruise ships, and retail. She has since opened Bada Design to create hospitality projects alike. She now lives in Paris gaining more inspiration and expanding clientele internationally.
Bada Design takes pride in core values and biggest assets being: reliable and personable client relations, unique design with attention to detail, healthy and open work environment, dedicated and strong work ethic, and efficient problem solving.
